Global Security
Maybe all the espionage
In Maclean cannot hush the single
Sad obvious secret: fear does not assuage.
Security, as costly as it is, is as strong as a Pringle.
If we were to open the floodgates,
Or let down our guard totally,
National security would just abate.
Initially it would be havoc. Notably
Many manmade disasters would occur.
Persistent openness: a splendid
Offer. What kind of trust? Of bravura?
Simple truth is not so transparent it would
Seem. 'Trust but verify' is like saying:
"The proof is in the paying"
